BOATS
-
Boat: Any boat you like! As long as it's trailer-able, and no Wake boats. Just keep in mind that the bigger the boat, the more chance you could get stuck on sand in the shallow areas. You can normally push off with a shovel or paddle. Jet-skis and speed boats welcome, but max speed for the event is 70km/h. And you'll need to do a minimum speed, refer below.

-
Speed: Needs to do at least 30km/h, ideally 35-40km/h or around 20 knots. Say for small boats you’d want at least 30hp, for a pontoon boat 100hp minimum. Houseboats are too big and slow. Contact me if unsure.

-
Equipment: Camp gear, hand trolley for fuel cans (Up to 600m walk to some petrol stations), spare prop, first aid kit and the all the mandatory boating safety equipment for inland waters. Toilet for first 2 nights camping - camp toilet or shovel. Refer FAQs for more detail.

-
Communication: Even with Telstra, there is a patch of around 50km between Wentworth and Customs house where there is no phone coverage, and it can be patchy in other places.
Sweep Boat has Starlink to communicate with support crew on the ground, or for emergencies.

-
Insurance: Third-party liability boat insurance.
